Samples of rock or metal are equilibrated at temperatures (300-700°C) and pressures (500 to 2000bar) in precious metal tubing.

 

Following the experiments, rock or metal sample material is analyzed for chemical changes.

 

Fluids can also be analyzed for chemical changes.
